The summer break is a great time to reflect on the previous year and think about the year ahead. One of the most welcome conversations I had in 2019 was with a business owner who…
… is a long-term customer of Entec’s. He was relating how he had described us to another business owner who was a brand-new customer to Entec.
His description of Entec included the memorable phrase:
“They’re the smarter guys who can make things work”.
That’s music to our ears! It stimulated a great discussion in our leadership team about what sets Entec apart from our competitors and what our core values are.
We’re very happy to be regarded as the smarter guys (and girls) who can make stuff work, and it endorses our core values around employing great people, valuing their input to the business and encouraging everyone to develop their skills and knowledge to meet their true potential.
We believe some of our other core attributes are…
- Our size – small enough to be agile and large enough to undertake large scopes and projects.
- Our breadth of expertise.
- Our Kiwi ownership.
- Our local focus, with offices in both New Plymouth and Auckland as well as people on the ground in the Waikato and the South Island.
With around 80 staff currently, two-thirds of whom are trade qualified or completing a trade apprenticeship, Entec has a sizeable team that enables us to take on large projects and service scopes with ease.
At our recent end-of-year events we handed out long service certificates to 29 employees with five or more years of service. The combined service of these 29 people adds up to 219 years of Entec experience. Our people are both loyal and experienced and we are so proud of this.
The products and services we offer span a wide breadth including instrumentation and electrical, maintenance and project work, IANZ accredited instrumentation calibrations, design and manufacture of bespoke temperature probes, rotating equipment service work, as well as a cradle-to-grave gas detection offering that covers sales, design, installation, commissioning and service.
We can provide a “one-stop shop” experience for many of our customers, taking overall responsibility for a broad scope of work.
Our local focus and local resources also allow us to respond really quickly when required. In the past couple of years we’ve been proud to have been the only providers that could…
- Get critical gas detection equipment to site immediately,
- Assist the Refinery Auckland Pipeline breach repair, and
- Support the emergency services responding to the White Island eruption.
We are a growing New Zealand business, employing New Zealanders and addressing skills shortages by bringing in skilled immigrants – helping to make new New Zealanders!
If you believe in building up the capacity and success of our wonderful country, and would like to use a company that employs the smarter guys and gals, please get in touch.
