In 2024, Entec proudly delivered a significant project for the Lauriston Solar Farm—a landmark development as the largest solar farm in New Zealand. The Lauriston Solar Farm, located in Canterbury, was developed by FRV and Genesis Energy to generate 63 MW of clean energy, contributing to New Zealand’s renewable energy goals. As part of this ambitious project, Entec was engaged by Beon Energy Solutions, the EPC contractor, to design, build, and install a custom Prefabricated Plant Room (PPR), aka a Switchroom.

The Prefabricated Plant Room is a critical component of the Lauriston Solar Farm, housing essential equipment such as LV and HV electrical infrastructure. These enclosed, modular units play a vital role in ensuring the seamless operation and safety of the solar farm’s electrical systems.
